The Quantum Trend Indicator was born out of frustration with traditional trading tools. As active traders in the crypto futures and spot markets, we noticed that most indicators either had too much lag or produced too many false signals. We wanted something faster, more precise, and backed by solid statistical principles—so we built it ourselves.
We started with the basics—RSI and Stochastic RSI. These oscillators were great for spotting potential reversals, but they were noisy. To fix this, we hardcoded pivot point detection (checking left and right bars) into our Stochastic RSI filter. This helped us eliminate weak signals early, ensuring only high-probability setups made it to the next stage.

Less messy than standard RSI
Better at spotting overbought/oversold extremes
Works well with our close-to-close volatility filter (to confirm if the market is actually ready to move)
Even after the first filter, some signals were still unreliable. So, we turned to statistical methods—but not Bollinger Bands (too laggy!). Instead, we used:
A modified z-score metric (reduces lag while keeping accuracy)
A 2-sigma channel (based on Gaussian distribution)
If price breached ±2 sigma, it meant only a 5% chance of it staying there—making a reversal highly probable. This double-filtering system (oscillators + statistical edge) became the backbone of Quantum Trend.
Most indicators suffer from delayed signals. Our solution?
Close-to-close volatility adjustments (only trade when the market is active)
Custom pivot-based Stochastic RSI (faster reaction to reversals)
Modified z-score (smoother, quicker trend detection)
